Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, TVP have developed a 10 point plan to achieve our carbon reduction targets.
1 – Energy Monitoring – Monitor our energy usage and carbon output.
2 – ‘Switch Off’ – Educate all employees to turn off equipment and lighting when not in use or not required.
3 – Contractor Induction – All contractor inductions to include a section highlighting the importance of reducing their carbon footprint whilst travelling to and working onsite.
4 – Euro 6 Engines – Fleet renewal program to begin in 2024, all vehicles to comply to Euro 6 standards.
5 – Solar Power – Feasibility study to explore the switch to solar power at operating bases.
6 – Zero Landfill – From 2023, zero waste attributed to TVP went to landfill. All wase streams went directly to recycle or recovery.
7 – LED lighting – Roll-out more energy efficient LED lighting at all depots.
8 – Supply Chain Review – Seek a 5% reduction in emissions attributed to TVP’s supply chain practices.
9 – Plastic Cups – 11,000,000 plastic cups (annual consumption figures) will be removed from all TVP’s hot drinks machines, replaced with paper cups by May 2024.
10 – Environmental & Sustainable KPI’s – Introduce business wide metrics to allow measurement and monitoring of progress against TVP’s sustainability goals.
The Vending People project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 890tCO2e.
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
