Commitment to achieving Net Zero

The Vending People is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2025
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
This is currently part of our environmental impact and aspects agenda and is one of our KPl’s for 2025. We aim to have emissions data in the first quarter of 2026. This is our next step following the Montagu Group (TVP parent company) Evergreen Assessment that was completed previously and then the Evergreen Assessment will be completed as The Vending People this year and updated through 2026 with our baseline carbon data. This is the latest data available at this time.
Baseline year emissions: 2023
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)
Scope 1 44(tCO2e)
Scope 2 54(tCO2e)
Scope 3(Included Sources) 1,089 (tCO2e)
Total Emissions 1,187(tCO2e)

Current Emissions Reporting

Reporting Year: 2024 (Jan-March)
EMISSIONS TOTAL (tCO2e)

Emissions reduction targets

We project that carbon emissions will reduce over the next 5 years to net zero. Our goal is to be net zero by 2030.

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, TVP have developed a 10 point plan to achieve our carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0 tCO2e by 2030.

This is a reduction of 100%

1 – Energy Monitoring – Monitor our energy usage and carbon output.

2 – ‘Switch Off’ – Educate all employees to turn off equipment and lighting when not in use or not required.

3 – Contractor Induction – All contractor inductions to include a section highlighting the importance of reducing their carbon footprint whilst travelling to and working onsite.

4 – Euro 6 Engines – Fleet renewal program to begin in 2024, all vehicles to comply to Euro 6 standards.

5 – Solar Power – Feasibility study to explore the switch to solar power at operating bases.

6 – Zero Landfill – From 2023, zero waste attributed to TVP went to landfill. All wase streams went directly to recycle or recovery.

7 – LED lighting – Roll-out more energy efficient LED lighting at all depots.

8 – Supply Chain Review – Seek a 5% reduction in emissions attributed to TVP’s supply chain practices.

9 – Plastic Cups – 11,000,000 plastic cups (annual consumption figures) will be removed from all TVP’s hot drinks machines, replaced with paper cups by May 2024.

10 – Environmental & Sustainable KPI’s – Introduce business wide metrics to allow measurement and monitoring of progress against TVP’s sustainability goals.

The Vending People project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 890tCO2e.

We are also operating an EMS based on ISO 14001. We are looking to reduce the number of petrol/diesel vehicles we operate through a transition to electric vehicles or hybrid engines in the coming 12-18 months.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

Introducing PIR Led Lighting into our offices. Moving all our electric supply to eco-friendly suppliers. Automated taps to reduce water and electric consumption. We will continue to minimise waste wherever feasible in our business.

Yes, our standard paper cups are recyclable. However the plastic PE liner does mean that you would need to contact your waste collection company and ask if they’re able to collect these types of cups. We can also offer biodegradable and compostable cups on request. Please speak to your Account Manager for more information on our sustainable options.

We aim to attend all service calls within 72 hours. We can also offer a range of Service Level Agreements (SLA) built into your account. This can be discussed with your Account Manager at point of proposal.
